By 1984 the freshness and fun had all but gone and christopher closed the last shop in 1986. The shop was opened in 1990 by josie firmin christopher strangeways and a second shop was opened in canterbury kent in 1992. At my ceramics degree show in 1986 i was invited by josie firmin and christopher strangeways to join a co operative workshop in london where a group of artists including illustrators ceramicists sculptors were invited to decorate bone china with their own ideas and designs. However imitators opened similar shops and eventually even the department stores were selling the same kind of stuff.
